Cadlao Lagoon

Cadlao Lagoon is a scenic turquoise lagoon tucked beneath the steep limestone cliffs and dense tropical vegetation of Cadlao Island. Its sheltered waters, rocky karst formations, and small sandy areas create a quieter lagoon experience within El Nido’s Bacuit Bay. El Nido Tourism continues to feature Cadlao Lagoon as one of the principal destinations around Cadlao Island.

The lagoon is especially suited to kayaking and swimming, allowing visitors to explore its shallow clear waters and limestone surroundings at a relaxed pace. Snorkeling may also be possible in suitable areas when visibility and sea conditions are favorable.

Cadlao Lagoon is currently associated with El Nido Tour D, together with other beaches and coves around Cadlao Island.

Best Time to Visit

November to May generally offers the most favorable conditions for island hopping in El Nido, with calmer seas and clearer weather more common during this period. From June to October, stronger winds and rougher seas can lead to itinerary changes or tour cancellations.

What to Expect

Expect a natural lagoon surrounded by rugged limestone cliffs rather than a developed tourist facility. Visitors usually spend their stop swimming, paddling, or simply enjoying the scenery.

Water depth and clarity vary throughout the lagoon, and conditions can change with the tide, wind, and weather. Bring swimwear, sun protection, secure water footwear, and a waterproof pouch or dry bag for valuables.

Getting There

Cadlao Lagoon is reached by boat from El Nido and is commonly included in Tour D or private island-hopping trips around Cadlao Island. Current El Nido Tourism information lists Cadlao Lagoon together with destinations such as Nat Nat Beach and Pasandigan Cove.

Tour operations remain subject to daily sea conditions and Philippine Coast Guard safety advisories.
