Starfish Sandbar (Luli Sandbar)
<p>Overview</p><p>Starfish Sandbar, locally known as Luli Sandbar, is a shallow sandbar located off the coast of Barangay Port Barton in the Municipality of San Vicente, Palawan. The name "Luli" is derived from the Filipino words lulubog (to sink) and lilitaw (to emerge), referring to the sandbar's changing appearance as the tide rises and falls. During low tide, portions of the sandbar become exposed, while at high tide they are largely submerged.</p><p>The sandbar is well known for its clear, shallow waters where chocolate chip sea stars (Protoreaster nodosus) are commonly found on the sandy seabed. Because of the abundance of these sea stars, many visitors and local tour operators also refer to the site as Starfish Sandbar or Starfish Island.</p><p>Luli Sandbar is one of the regular stops on Port Barton island-hopping tours and is valued for its calm coastal environment and natural marine setting.</p><p>What to Expect Tidal Sandbar</p><p>The appearance of the sandbar changes throughout the day depending on the tide.
