Description
Green Lagoon is a coastal lagoon on Coron Island, within Barangay Banuang Daan in the municipality of Coron. It is known for its green-toned waters enclosed by steep limestone formations and vegetation. The Municipality of Coron specifically identifies Green Lagoon as being on Coron Island in Barangay Banuang Daan. Coron Island itself has a rugged karst landscape and is home to Indigenous Tagbanua communities; the island and its surrounding waters have also been subject to various conservation and protection measures. Coron Island Natural Biotic Area is included in the Philippines' UNESCO Tentative List, rather than the current World Heritage List.
