Description

Barracuda Lake, also known locally as Luluyuwan Lake, is an inland lake on Coron Island in the Municipality of Coron, Palawan. It is surrounded by steep limestone formations characteristic of Coron Island's karst landscape. The lake is particularly known for its unusual combination of freshwater and saltwater layers, which produce noticeable changes in water temperature and density as visitors descend. The Philippine Clearing-House Mechanism under the DENR Biodiversity Management Bureau lists Barracuda Lake as an inland wetland in Coron. The lake is also within the ancestral domain of the Calamian Tagbanwa, whose traditional management and cultural practices are important to the area.
